Google AdSense 6 Months Rule-A Beginner’s Guide To Making Money

This blog post can contain affiliate links. This means that, at no additional cost to you, I may receive a commission if you click through and make a purchase. Please note that I only recommend products and services that I personally use and trust.

So what is the famous Google Adsense 6-month rule? Do you really need to wait for 6 months to apply for Adsense?

These are a few questions that have been bothering you. Well, don’t worry, in this post I will answer that for you.

Why the Adsense 6 months rule?

First of all, new websites have a very low traffic, and applying for Adsense doesn’t really make that much of an impact on earnings.

Now if you are a content publisher who uses the right blogging strategy, you will be able to get approved in the first 3 months.

In the end, it really boils down to the amount of quality content you have on your blog.

That being said, if your website contains at least 15-20 blog posts AND you are using social media to bring people to your website, you WILL get approved.

Usually, new bloggers tend to apply for Google Adsense with only a few blog posts. It’s no wonder why Google doesn’t approve of their new account.

Not to mention, many people who have a new blog, are so tempted to share their baby with their family and friends in the hope of getting some traffic, or maybe they think those people will actually have any interest in your new blog.

It makes sense, as you will want them to visit your blog and give you feedback.

But traffic from these people is really of a low quality which doesn’t benefit you in any way if you want long-term success.

Also, many newbies make the mistake of asking for ad clicks from their close ones.

This actually can even get your account banned. As per Google Adsense Guidelines, you cannot ask other people to click on your ads or use deceptive methods to obtain clicks.

Look, Google is really very smart. It will actually find out about it and will suspend your account.

And for sure you don’t want your account to be suspended when you are just starting. Right?

This way of generating traffic is the worst you can do for your blog. Actually, getting targeted traffic to your new blog is the best solution(I will discuss it later).

Also, it usually takes 6 months to attract some genuine organic traffic to your blog. This is because after 6 months AND constantly adding new content is a signal that your blog is legit.

Until then, Google search engines won’t take you seriously.

So, my advice is not to try to game Google and better be patient.

Now you must be wondering if you really have to wait for 6 months, or if there is a way to speed up the process.

My dear friend, there is always a WAY to speed up everything in this world. Whether it’s blog traffic, earning money, or getting ranking from Google.

This is something that you should not forget. There is a way, you just need to find it.

Forget about those people who tell you to wait for 3-6 years to be able to earn a full-time income with your blog. Some people are earning full-time income in just 1 year.

And how do they do that?

Well, they increased their output significantly.

That being said, let’s see how you can increase your chance of getting approved by Google Adsense.

SPECIAL NOTE: There are many reasons why Google Adsense will reject your application. But, if you follow the Google Adsense 6 Month Rule, your website will get accepted.

Once your request is accepted, the next thing to do is to BLOCK low-paying ads so that you can make at least $5 PER DAY with Google Adsense.

How to increase your chance of getting approved by Google Adsense

This is really very simple. Just do these things and you will get approved by Google.

Actually, when I started my blog, I got rejected by Google AdSense for the first 2 months.

But being very stubborn by nature, I applied for it in the third month and actually got approved.

So, in 3 months you can get approval if you do the following.

  • Have a website that had at least 15-20 quality articles.
  • Use social media to drive targeted traffic to your new blog.

That being said, let’s see how you can improve these.

1. Create more quality content

Create good enough content

Creating quality content is not that complicated at all. You just need to create content that will somehow help your audience.

You don’t need to create the best content on the web for a specific keyword. Good enough content (1,200-1,500) words is enough.

The best way you can create quality content is by providing real value to your audience. It doesn’t matter if some of your blog posts are 600 words. The MOST important thing is that your content has solved a problem.

2. Use Social media to leverage traffic

social media

Using at least 1 social media to generate traffic is a no-brainer. You HAVE to get some momentum for your blog.

If you want to start to earn money with your blog either by affiliate marketing or by using ads, you must absolutely bring traffic to your blog.

You will absolutely need to know whether your content is good enough to create a profitable business. Traffic from social media will give you enough insights about your blog, and you can make necessary adjustments to reach a point where you are earning a full-time income.

The first 6-8 months, when your organic traffic will be almost non-existent, is actually the only time when social media is crucial.

3. Increase your Page’s RPM

Increase RPM for google adsense

If you want to use Google Adsense to earn money with your blog, you need to know that your Page’s RPM will have a massive impact on your earnings.

So, how much impact can it have?

Well, it’s the difference between success and failure.

Let me give you an example.

When your blog is new your average RPM will be around $1. This means you can earn around $1 per thousand impressions.

If you can increase your RPM to $20, then you will earn approximately $20 per thousand impressions.

For instance, if your blog is getting 10,000 page views per month(which is very low) you will earn approximately $10 per month.

But if your RMP is $20, then you will earn $200 per month.

This is how important your Page’s RPM is.

You SHOULD always keep that in mind.
