If you don’t want to leverage social media and want to build a successful blog, you will surely love this post.

So, the 1 million dollar question is:

Can you start a blog without using social media?

The answer is straightforward: Yes you can. Actually, building a blog without social media can help you build a more sustainable and profitable system that is more passive.

But there are a few things that you absolutely need to understand to be able to make it work. You must ignore what most bloggers are saying and approach blogging the right way.

The reason is: If you will follow what everyone is doing you will end up competing with the majority which will hinder your success. It’s like the rat race of blogging where everyone is competing for the same keywords.

No wonder why so many bloggers end up disappointed and finally give up on their blogs.

So, is there a smart way to approach blogging that will surely increase your chance of building a successful blog?

Yes, there is.

Here is how should do it:

Though on the surface these might sound basic, they will make all the difference in the world.

That being said, here are a few vital steps to follow if you want to start your blog without using social media.

SPECIAL NOTE: 95% of aspiring bloggers who start a blog fail. Do you know why?

It's because they are not using the right blogging strategy and they don't know the REAL TIMELINE for a blog.

Did you know, that you can build a successful blog by spending only 1- 2 hours per day on your blog? Well, if you use MY BLOGGING STRATEGY, you will be able to do that.

How to start a blog without social media?

1. Choose the right blogging strategy

Why I am putting so much emphasis on blogging strategy?

Well, because it’s a big mistake I made when I started this blog. I read what other bloggers were teaching online and followed everything that they said.

What happened is that I ended in the same rate race as most of them and never got any initial momentum.

Luckily I stumbled upon income school, which helped me to change my perspective on blogging.

Once I applied what they taught in their course, I started to see a massive difference in my blog’s traffic.

So, what is the blogging strategy that allowed me to get to build a successful blog?

Well, here is my blogging strategy that is helping my blog enormously. If you follow all the steps in this strategy you will surely see a massive difference.

2. Know how your blog will perform in the first 24 months

There is way too much information about instant riches on the internet. Some people (Fake Gurus) even claim that you can make $5,000 in just a few months of blogging.

Understand that it takes at least 8-12 months for your blog posts to reach their full potential on the Google Search engine.

There is no way that you can make it work in a few months. Even with a lot of backlinks, your blog will never get enough traffic to make $5,000 per month.

Here is the truth:

Your blog will earn nothing in the first few months. If you can make $30 in your first 6 months, it’s a massive achievement.

Here is what your ORGANIC traffic will look like in your first year of blogging:

Organic traffic for a blog in the first year

I know it’s a slow process. But it’s a good thing that Google doesn’t give traffic to any new blog.

You must love and respect that it takes a lot of time for a new blog to get traffic. This ensures that anyone can build a successful blog if they are ready to put in the hard work.

This is the perfect system that will weed out anyone who is creating crappy content or doesn’t have enough patience to work hard.

Now, this is where the magic happens.

Once you reach the 1-year mark, you will see that your blog starts to grow exponentially:

Here you can see that your blog will go from 8,000 sessions up to 90,0000 monthly sessions in just the second year.

Pro Tip: Most blogs(around 95%) take at least 8-12 months before they start to get some quality traffic. If you see someone killing it in the first year, understand that they have created a lot of high-quality content and backlinks to their new blog.

Here is my timeline for the first 24 months of your blogging journey. It has all the details that you will need for each month that will help understand what you need to do each month.

It’s a timeline that I learned in my course and I am sharing it for free with you.

3. Apply these hacks to increase your Authority

When you have a new blog, you will need to build some authority as a new blogger. So, if it is your first blog and you have created a new user( in WordPress), it’s time to speed up the process.

For Google to trust you as an author, you will need to show some credibility. Here is what you can do:

  • First, create an about page that clearly describes who you are and what type of content you will write on your blog.
  • Add contact information that will show that you are someone legit. (An email address will be enough).
  • Make sure that you install an SSL certificate on your blog. Having an SSL certificate is vital and it is part of Google’s algorithm.
  • Add a terms and conditions page on your blog.
  • Add a Privacy Policy on your blog.
  • Create a Google My Business Account.
  • Create a Quora account( I will discuss more on Quora later).

Now that you have a better idea of how you must start your blog, there is another thing that you will need to do.

Though the next thing seems a bit counterintuitive, you must incorporate it into your strategy.

4. use another search engine to boost your traffic

Everyone struggles with traffic for their blog because the competition is really high. But it doesn’t mean you cannot anything about it.

Here is a simple example of my pin on Pinterest:

viral pin updated

As you can see, in just 1 month, this pin generated 3,120 clicks.

Also, if you use Pinterest, you will notice that your content will get a boost in Google search results every time your pins get traction on Pinterest.

And the truth about Pinterest is: Pinterest is not a social media platform. It is a search engine just like Google. People browse Pinterest for ideas and do a lot of searches on the platform.

Now Pinterest will not only help you to get a better ranking, but it can be the platform that brings a lot of traffic to your new blog.

For instance, a single pin can generate traffic for at least 12-18 months. Can you imagine the potential it has?

Here is how a single pin can bring traffic to your blog in 6 months:

The thing is: Many bloggers are making Full-time income just because they can generate 80,000- 120,000 monthly page sessions from Pinterest.

I am not there yet, but I do get some traction from Pinterest which is allowing me to make a decent income with my blog.

That being said, here are a few resources that will help you get started with Pinterest:

The benefits of blogging without social media

1. Helps you to create better content

The one main benefit of blogging without social media is that your whole focus will be on creating the best content on the web.

Since you won’t have any other way to generate traffic to your blog apart from the Google search engine, you will need to create content of high quality to get a ranking.

Though recently Google core web vitals have been incorporated into Google’s search algorithm, having quality content that is better than your competitor is still the number one ranking factor.

If you change your perspective, you will understand that Google needs to maintain its reputation.

It cannot afford to display low-quality content for its users. It will display only the best content which will help its users.

2. A better way to create money without excess attention

If you are like me, I am sure you don’t really like any excess attention on yourself and like to keep things private.

That’s why you will see that I don’t spend any time on other social media platforms apart from Pinterest and Twitter.

I use Pinterest to generate traffic and get some boost in rankings and I use Twitter mainly for building relationships with other bloggers out there.

This approach has allowed me to focus on creating more content (110 blog posts in just 1 year) and now I have a second blog which I started in May 2021.

My approach to blogging is relatively simple. I am creating niche websites and monetizing them with ads and affiliate marketing. That’s it.

Gone are the days when you need to do the tedious work that other bloggers do to get some traction.

This simple approach has allowed me to create a passive income where I now dedicate only 4-6 hours per week to this blog.

Trust me. Building niche websites is the way to go in this era.

SPECIAL NOTE: When it comes to making money with ads, EZOIC is the best option for new bloggers.

This is because it has no minimum traffic requirement and new websites will get the highest RPM.

Create your Ezoic account now, and start to make money with ads.

3. saves your willpower and energy

The thing about creating different social media profiles and spending time on them is really futile. Can you imagine the amount of work it takes to create different post formats for your blog posts, add them to your social media platform, and then try to comment on those posts to get some traction?

Hilarious, isn’t it?

Your time will be better spent on doing keyword research and creating a few blog posts that will help you generate more traffic and money.

The thing about your energy and willpower is that it is a very limited resource. Every time you reply to an email, social media post, or interact with people, your willpower and energy will deplete.

This is one of the reasons why so many people find it overwhelming to start and maintain their blogs. They have created a system where they are the bottleneck of their blog.

Therefore, if you have very limited willpower and energy, doesn’t it make sense to spend those resources on creating more content?

4. you have more control over your blog

If you are using social media for your blog, you don’t have much control over the outcome. People may visit your blog through your link or they may even like and comment on it without ever visiting your blog.

Likes, comments, and shares don’t make any difference if no one is clicking on your links.

If you are using social media (besides Pinterest), you can see a sudden spike in traffic which tanks pretty much within 24 hours. It now becomes a constant battle of adding new posts to your social media profiles to generate traffic.

You are now part of a system that creates a vicious cycle with needs your attention and time constantly. Basically, you cannot spend time on social media platforms just to generate traffic. This is not a way to generate a passive income.

5. You become more confident

The awesome feeling when your blog is on Google’s first pages has no substitute. Can you imagine how much confidence you will get when you can outperform other blogs? Even if you have only 1 blog post on the first position, it is an indication that you are doing something right.

This will fuel you to create more content which will then become part of your routine.

With social media platforms, you will get way more haters and negative people who will try to sabotage your confidence. First, they will criticize your work, then they will bring their limitations and negativity into your life.

The thing about social media is that it is a platform where people are looking for fun and distraction. It’s not a place where people are really searching for queries to solve their problems.

And if you are like most people on this planet, I am sure that whenever you have an issue or problem, you will head over to Google to find an answer, not on social media. Right?

That being said, now that you know the benefits of blogging without social media and how you can do it, let’s look at ways that can help you promote your blog without using social media. Shall we?

How to promote your blog without social media

1. Target low Competition keywords

The only way to get momentum for a new blog without authority is to target keywords that have low competition.

Now here is the bare truth about keyword research: Any keyword tool (Google keyword planner included) never shows you the exact number of search volumes. The only way to know the search volume is by creating content for that keyword.

I know almost everyone in the industry harp a lot about keyword tools. Though they have their uses, the only metric that you should ignore is monthly search volumes.

This is because a keyword tool may indicate that the search volume for a keyword is 0, but if you can get the first spot you will often notice that the same keyword is bringing anywhere between 500-5,000 monthly visits.

Right now, I have a few blog posts that are in the first position, and I can tell you what the keyword tools tell me about monthly search volumes and the amount of traffic I am getting from them is just insane.

So, in short, whenever you are choosing your keywords, you can target any keyword that shows (0-500) monthly search volumes.

This is one of the most effective ways to make sure that you are targeting relatively easy keywords that will bring enough traffic. Another awesome thing is that your competitors won’t be targeting those keywords as they THINK the monthly search volume is not worth the effort.

This is where the gold is, my friend.

2. Start a youtube channel

Now, having a youtube channel doesn’t mean you should show your face. You can create a youtube channel and record your screen while talking. You can also get royalty-free videos that you can use to create awesome educational content.

Having a youtube channel will make sure that you get enough link juice pointing to your new blog. Actually, whenever someone clicks on your links from youtube, it is a positive signal to Google.

Here is a step-by-step guide from Income School that will help you create your youtube channel without showing your face:

3. Create a new account on Quora

When your blog is still new, you need to create a little credibility so that you can get a boost in traffic. When it comes to credibility, Quora is a perfect place to get started.

Now, I am not telling you to spend time on the platform every day. You just need to create some initial momentum for a little traffic and credibility.

So how can you do that?

It’s very simple.

Once you have created your account, answer AT LEAST 15 queries that are related to your niche. That’s it.

You don’t need to spend a lot of time on the platform. Just answer 2-3 questions per day. Once you have answered 15 questions, you are done.

But make sure to include your link in your Quora profile.

Final Thoughts: How To Become A Successful Blogger Without Using Social Media

Starting a blog without social media can be a very effective strategy for those who like to remain anonymous or want to create a passive income without dedicating too much time to their blog.

Actually, your goal should always be to spend only a few hours per week just maintaining your blog and creating at least 1 blog post per week.

But to reach that point, you will need to have at least 100 blog posts on your blog. This will build a solid foundation for your future earnings.

Now, if you really want to know what you should do for the first 24 months of your blogging journey, then read my step-by-step guide which will point you in the right direction and help you understand how you can build a full-time income in just 2 years.
