How much do successful bloggers make-More than you thought

Before I started this blog, I did a lot of research on blog monetization. I was eager to know how much successful bloggers make.

Since blogging was so popular I thought almost every blogger earns at least a part-time income.

So I did some research and what I found surprised me:

As you can notice:

  • 27% of bloggers earn nothing
  • 23.1% of bloggers earn between $1-$200
  • 10.6% of bloggers earn between $201-$500
  • Only 12.8% of bloggers earn between $1,001-$2,500

When I did the math, I realized that almost 60.7% of bloggers earn less than $501 per month.

That made me thinking: Is blogging worth my time?

I must say I was hesitant to start this blog. I was really afraid that I would give at least 1-2 years of my time and I will earn just $500 per month. Not a wise investment at all.

So, I decided it was not worth it.

After a few weeks, I stumbled upon a blog post from Financial Samurai where the blogger claimed that if you start a blog and publish 3 times per week without fail, you will earn anywhere between $1,000-$10,000 in the first year.

He was confident that almost 60% of the world population can do that.

That got me thinking: If it’s possible for 60% of the population, then surely I will be able to make it work.

So, here I am talking about blogging.

That being said, I am sure you would want to know how much successful bloggers are earning right now?

How much do successful bloggers make?

Some of the most successful people in the industry are earning more than you can think:

  • Survival life is a blog that makes enormous money. Right now this blog is making $1,000,000 per month. That’s insane.
  • Smart Passive income is a blog where you can learn and master the skills needed to build your online business. This blog is making $100,000 per month.
  • Pinch of Yum is a recipe blog that is making over $50,000 per month.
  • Learning herbs is a blog that helps people to create healing herbal remedies. This blog is making over $20,000 per month
  • Little Coffee Place is a blog that creates content about coffee. This blog is making $10,000 per month.

So why these people are earning so much while almost 60% of other bloggers are earning less than $501 per month?

Well, the answer is really simple.

Blogging is a venture that takes time.

Many aspiring bloggers think that they will create 20 articles and they will earn $5,000 per month.

I completely understand this. There is so much noise about INSTANT riches on the web right now that people are used to the fact that you can make thousands of dollars in just a few months.

Actually, there is a whole generation that believes in instant gratification.

The truth is:

People who claim that they can help you earn $5,000 in just 3 months just want you to buy their courses.

They know that there are way too many people who believe in this myth. So these bloggers leverage this myth to maximize their sales. Then when someone buys the course and doesn’t get the desired results, they accuse that online marketing as a scam.

My dear friend:

Logically if starting a blog and earning $5,000 per month was that easy, everyone in the world would start a blog.

Who doesn’t want to earn $5,000 in just 3 months? I guess everyone.

That’s why having a REALISTIC expectation is what will help you achieve your goal.

How can you increase your chance of building a successful blog?

This is something that bothers many people. If you ask successful bloggers you will get all kinds of answers.

Why is that so?

Well, because everyone approached blogging differently. What works for them doesn’t necessarily mean will work for you.

There are far too many people who start their blog, write 20-30 articles and give up in less than 6 months.

Why these people fail?

Well, because they think of success as a one-time event. Something that will happen instantly without a lot of effort.

If you want to have a chance of getting success, you must understand that blogging is a journey that can take anywhere between 1-3 years.

1 year if you work really very hard.

2 years if you work hard.

3 years if you work regularly but do follow a specific blogging strategy.

It boils down to the amount of time you dedicate to your blog. What I mean by that is:

That being said, let’s see what will increase your chance of making a full-time income with your blog.

1.Targeting the right keywords

Targeting low competition keywords with low search volume is the easiest way of getting on Google’s first page.

If your blog is new and you target keywords with high search volumes, it will be really tough to even get on Google’s first page. With so many people targeting the same keywords, your chance of getting on the first page decreases exponentially.

If you target low competition keywords that have low search volumes (10-500), you have a better chance to get on the first spot.

2.The quality of your content

When I say QUALITY content I don’t mean epic content with 5,000- 10,000 words.

You can create quality content with just 1,200-1,500 words. The most important thing is:

  • People should find your content easy to read.
  • Your content must contain statistics, graphs, and images.
  • You should genuinely try to provide accurate and useful information.

If you keep these 3 things into consideration whenever are writing, I don’t know why you won’t get the success you deserve.

3.Your publishing frequency

Though many bloggers claim that posting 1-2 blog posts per week is enough, the industry experts suggest at least 4-5 blog posts per week.

For instance, HubSpot suggests that you publish as much optimized content as you can to increase your organic traffic.

In the beginning, I published 2 times per week. Though I thought it was enough, after 6-7 months my organic traffic was still very low.

So as of February 2021, I decided to publish 5-6 times per week and see how it can impact my organic traffic.

Posting only 2 times per week was a huge mistake as I failed to understand this:

I am competing with bloggers who have more than 100 blog posts on their blogs. How am I even supposed to compete with them with only a few contents?

Had I started with at least 3-4 blog posts per week, I would have been very far by now.

Anyway, making mistake is human and I am adjusting my schedule to be able to publish at least 5-6 articles per week.

4.Constantly tweak your content

So, how often should you update your content? Well, as often as you can.

Why I am saying so?

Well linking all your relevant content is a signal that you have written enough content on a specific niche.

For instance, if I link ALL my blog posts that are related to the term “Blogging”, I will get a boost in ranking as Google will recognize my blog as an authority website for the term “Blogging”.

Also, updating my content with the fresh and latest information will make sure that I stay on top of search results.

One of the most effective ways to link all my content is by using a plugin. Right now I am using The Internal Link Juicer Plugin.

It’s really easy to set up. Here is a super easy guide for you:

5.Promote your content on social media

When you are new to blogging, the best way to generate some traffic is using social media.

If you wait for organic traffic only, then it will take a lot of time.

Social media will allow you to get eyeballs on your content which is crucial to get feedback and potentially earn a part-time income.

Some bloggers are getting only 2,000 monthly visits from Google but are earning $10,000 per month.

How is that possible?

Well, they are using Pinterest to leverage their blog traffic. They are getting around 100,000 monthly visits per month with Pinterest only.

That’s why I always tell my readers to use Pinterest.

Though you can use other social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, I have noticed that traffic from Pinterest converts really well.

That being said, here are a few resources that will help you generate traffic from Pinterest:

Trust me on that. Pinterest is very powerful.

Final thoughts: How much do successful bloggers make

Successful bloggers are earning anywhere between $10,000 up to $1,000,000 per month.

Though it took them a lot of time to reach there, you can easily earn $1,000 per month within your first year of blogging.

The usual trend for a blogger is:

1st year: $1,000 per month

2nd year: $3,000 per month

3rd year: $5,000 per month

4th year: $10,000 per month

Now, you can earn $10,000 per month in your first year of blogging?

Of course.

If you haven’t heard of Sarah Titus, she is a blogger who reached $10,000 per month within her first year of blogging. But she worked 10-15 hours per day.

That being said, how much you earn is in your control. The amount of TIME you dedicate to your blog will determine how much you will earn.

It’s as simple as that.

I hope that this blog has given you enough insight to grow your blog.

See you soon!
