Freelancing has been on the rise since more people are searching for different ways to make money during their spare time or trying to change a career and become a freelancer.

Regarding freelancing platforms, Fiverr is among the best and most popular since it has allowed a lot of people to make a full-time income.

So, if you are really interested to become a freelancer on Fiverr, this guide is for you.

In this guide, I will show you all the steps to get started, which gigs you should choose, and how you can start getting orders without having to wait for too long.

That being said, let’s get started.

Can a beginner work on Fiverr?

Anyone can start their freelancing journey as it is very easy to create an account and list your services. However, many beginners are not able to get any kind of traction, because they don’t know which gigs to choose.

Before you decide to start your freelancing journey, there are a few points that you must consider:

  • Do you have enough time to deliver the quality services that your clients are asking for?
  • What are your skills and how you can make it work?
  • How much do you want to charge for your services?
  • Do you really want to do the job yourself or do you want to hire someone and make a profit?

1. Do you have enough time?

post at the right time

I know that many beginners start their freelancing journey as a side hustle and want to see if they can get some work on the platform.

But the truth is this: There is a lot of competition on the platform. You must absolutely deliver quality work and not miss any deadline.

Missing any deadline can be detrimental to your account if buyers report your account more than once.

You can get your account suspended if ever you miss deadlines and you have more than 1 complaint on your account.

Also, it’s easy to get carried away and take on additional work than you can handle. By doing so, you may run the danger of burning out and losing the enthusiasm that motivated you, to begin with.

2. What skills do you have?

On Fiverr, more than 800,000 freelancers are providing their services in more than 500 different skill areas. So, what do you have to offer?

Consider carefully what you can offer your clients before beginning to freelance on Fiverr. It’s crucial to consider what makes you different from the competitors.

It is important to understand that if you have any specific skills, it doesn’t mean you will be able to make massive money on Fiverr.

Even if you choose the most demanding skills on the platform, it doesn’t mean that you will easily get orders and start to make thousands of dollars every month.

That’s why I always suggest my readers choose a low-competition gig that is easier to rank on Fiverr and in which you can make build your reputation.

3. How much you will charge for your services?

The amount you will charge for your services will be dependent on the competition and how much time you take to complete a specific task.

For instance, if you are a logo designer and you can design a log in less than 5 minutes using Canva, you can charge $5 for a logo.

But if you are using adobe illustrator to design a logo and it takes you more than 1 hour to complete a logo, then charging $5 for 1 hour of work won’t be worth your time.

Even though Fiverr lets you set pricing as low as $5, it doesn’t mean you should charge $5 for your gigs. Recognize the value of your services and the prices that customers are prepared to pay for them.

You should also take into consideration that Fiverr takes a cut for every completed order. This is the main Revenue for Fiverr.

4. Do you have a business mindset

If you are someone who wants to build an online business, then Fiverr can be your ideal platform.

You can do this by reselling Fiverr gigs and making a profit on each sale.

It sounds interesting, isn’t it?

So, if you don’t want to do the hard work and want to leverage your time and network, you can hire freelancers from other platforms to complete the job for $2-$3. And then you can charge anywhere between $6-$8 and make a profit.

If this sounds interesting to you, then I have a complete guide that will help you get started on Fiverr and show you how to resell gigs and make a profit.
