When it comes to freelancing, Fiverr is the best platform as it has helped small business owners to find freelancers and do important tasks for only $5.
In this post, I will show you how to create a professional gig on Fiverr and show you some tricks that can help you get more orders faster.
Steps to create a professional gig on Fiverr
1. Register your new account on Fiverr
The first step to get started is to create your new account so that you will be able to get access to become a seller on the platform.
Creating a new account is not complicated at all. All you have to do is to sign up through, Facebook, Google, or Apple.

Pretty simple, isn’t it?
2. select a low-competition Fiverr gig
Before you create your profile, you will need to choose a gig that has low competition and significant demand so that you can get orders within a week.
Why am I saying so?
Well, because I know a lot of freelancers who have started on Fiverr choosing a gig that seems really exciting or because they could make a lot of money with a single completed task.
And in the end, they end up disappointed as it takes too long to get any order.
You have to understand one crucial thing:
There is a lot of competition on the platform. Choosing a gig that is in demand, trending, or that has a lot of income potential is very competitive and you won’t be able to stand out.
That’s why, in the beginning, it’s vital to choose a gig that can help you get orders fast, and then after you built your reputation and got some positive reviews, you can pivot to other money-making gigs.

Complete the seller account activation by following the instructions.
6. Create your first gig
Now that you are a seller, it’s time to create your first gig.
Make sure seller mode is activated, then choose Gigs and press the “Create A New Gig” button.
Now you will get this screen where you will have to add some important information for your gig.

Before you start to add your information, there are a few things that you will need to know:
Gig Title- There shouldn’t be more than 80 characters in your gig title. So be careful to come up with a compelling Gig title. Also, don’t forget to include at least 1 positive keyword for your gig.
Category- Since Fiverr will recommend appropriate categories depending on your Gig Title, you don’t need to worry too much about them.
Tags- Use pertinent tags. The number of keywords you may include while building your gig is capped at five. If you want to improve your chances of being found by buyers, your keywords must be relevant to your gig.
If you don’t know which tags to use, then you can do a quick search on Fiverr to see what the pros are using.
Here is an example:

7. Use high-quality images for your gig
It is important to understand that the way potential buyers will see you and your profile will have a massive difference in your success on the platform.
The first impression they get about you is really important as they will need to trust that you are a professional before they ever decide to contact you.
This is why you should ALWAYS use high-quality images for your profile and gigs.
Also, the use of high-quality photos that persuade the user to click on your gig is, therefore, crucial to be able to get more views and impressions.
For instance, if you do a quick search for graphic design on Fiverr you will get this:

As you can see, every pro seller has created images that are appealing and grab attention.
You should try to find inspiration for your gig and see what types of pictures are working well.
Then you will have to create similar images(with your personal touch) and add them to your gigs.
If you are someone who doesn’t have any editing skills, you can use your FREE Canva account to create beautiful images just like the pros.
It is really simple and easy to use Canva as you can use their drag and drop feature to personalize your images.

8. Set your pricing
Once you have entered all the information for your gig, the next step is to add your pricing.
This can be really tricky as many beginners often struggle to put value to their work.
So, how can you solve this issue?
It’s really simple.
Do a quick search on Fiverr and see what the pros and beginners are charging. Have a look at their packages and see if there is anything you can add.
Then, charge the lowest price you can(including the additional task). I know, it can sound frustrating to charge a low price in the beginning.
But, you will have to do it to build your reputation and get positive reviews to be able to get higher on the search results.
Before you decide on your price, it’s vital to know that Fiverr will take a cut for every completed transaction as it is their main source of revenue.
Here is how much you will make after each completed order:
Gig Price | Revenue after order completed |
$5.00 | $4.00 |
$10.00 | $8.00 |
$15.00 | $12.00 |
$20.00 | $16.00 |
$25.00 | $20.00 |
$50.00 | $40.00 |
$100.00 | $80.00 |
$150.00 | $120.00 |
$200.00 | $160.00 |
$250.00 | $200.00 |
$500.00 | $400.00 |
$1000.00 | $800.00 |
9. Promote your gig on social media
Now that you have created your professional gig on Fiverr, you will need to create awareness so that you can speed up the process.
For any new gig created on Fiverr, it can take around 30 days for the positive keyword to reach its full potential.
Meanwhile, you can speed up the process and get more views on your profile and gigs so that the Fiverr algorithm understands that you are getting social traffic and giving you a boost in ranking.
Pro tip: The more impressions and views a gig gets, the more Fiverr will show it to potential buyers.
