Making money with your blog can be tricky, but is not complicated at all. The most important thing is to get quality traffic which actually will solve your money issues faster.
What do I mean by quality traffic?
You can have a blog with only 25,000 monthly sessions making $10,000 per month, and on the other hand, your blog can have 100,000 monthly sessions making only $1,000 per month.
If you are new to blogging then this is how you can make a full-time income with your new blog:
The best way to make money with your new blog is to use ads and affiliate links. These are the easiest way to get started. Once you are getting more than 10,000 monthly sessions, you can then try direct advertisements, sponsored posts, and finally, create your own e-Book.
But these are not your only options.
Before I get into the mechanics of blog monetization, let’s have a quick overview of the different ways to make money with your blog.
|Monetization of your blog content||Make money using affiliate links|
Using a reliable Ad network to get the best RPM
Using direct advertissements
Selling sponsored blog posts
Making money writing reviews
Selling your blog
|Create a paid membership website||Creating premium content for Members only|
Creating a private forum
|Sell digital products||Selling e-Books|
Selling online courses
Hosting paid webinars
|Sell services||Offering freelance Services|
Starting a consulting business
Becoming a coach
Before we get started, I would like to inform you that though it can take some time to make money with blogging, once your blog reaches the 1-year mark, the earning potential increases significantly.
Here is how much you can expect to earn if you are constantly publishing at least 3 articles per week:
|Year||Number Of Articles||Potential Earnings Per Month|
|6||864||$250,000 – $350,000|
Now you can understand, how so many bloggers end up making $10,000 in their first year.
It’s by publishing more content.
I know how difficult it can be to publish 3 articles per week. That’s why I have created a blogging strategy that will help you build a successful blog by spending only 1-2 hours on your blog per day.
That being said, let’s see the different ways you can make money with your new blog.
Best ways to make Money with your new blog
1.Use ads on your blog
There are many people out there who will advise you not to use ads on your blog. But the thing is, there are far too many super successful blogs that have enabled ads on their blog.
Actually having ads on your blog is the first step to monetizing your blog. It is the easiest and most passive way to generate income for your new blog.
Another awesome thing about enabling ads on your blog is that once you start to see your earnings increase with ads, you will be motivated to create more content and take your blog to the next level.
Don’t forget: Money is the motivation factor for massive action. If you are earning nothing in the first 6 months, you can easily give up on your blog.
That’s why having ads on your blog is so crucial to keep you motivated. Also, don’t forget many successful bloggers who advise you not to use ads have used ads on their blog in the beginning.
The logic: Don’t listen to what they say. Watch what they do.
For instance, here is how much my other blog earned with Google Adsense:
Earning €326.50 in 1 month using Google Adsense for sure will keep you motivated and pay all the expenses you may have for your blog.
With ad networks, a good rule of thumb is, the more traffic you can generate, the more you can earn. So if you can attract more visitors to your blog, your earnings will increase.
Now, I know it takes most bloggers at least 10-15 months before they start to get organic traffic. That’s why a very smart way to get some initial momentum is to leverage Pinterest in the beginning.
Also, what I have noticed with Pinterest is this: If one of your pins gets some serious traction on Pinterest, you will see an automatic increase in Google ranking for that particular blog post.
Now, Google Adsense is not your only option to make money with display ads.
Other ad networks have both CPC and CPM-based revenue models.
You must be asking yourself what CPC and CPM are?
So, let me clarify this for you.
CPC stands for Cost Per Click. It means that when someone clicks on your ad, you earn money. It usually varies between $0.02 up to $5 for each click you can generate. This is the usual rate, but there are times when it can go up to $10-$50.
CPM stands for Cost Per Impression. It means you can earn money when the ads are just shown to your audience. They don’t need to click on the ads for you to make an income. Usually, you can earn anywhere between $1 up to $10 for every 1000 impressions you can generate on your blog.
Pro Tip: You are not allowed to click on the ads, nor can you ask someone to click on the ads for you. It is against Google AdSense policies.
There are different kinds of ads that you can use with your blog which are:
- InText Ads: These ads are placed within the text of your content.
- InFold Ads: These ads appear at the bottom of the screen.
- InTag Ads: These ads are displayed according to the content of your blog’s page.
- InArticle Ads: These ads are displayed between the paragraphs of your content.
- InFrame Ads: These ads fit into the right and left of the screen.
Now that you know how ads work, it’s time to decide on the ad network that you will choose.
If you don’t want to use Google Adsense, you can use an ad network that helps you make more money with your traffic.
For instance, if you use Ezoic, you will be able to make anywhere between 50%-250% more than Google Adsense.
Native ads are different from usual ads as they don’t look like ads. They look like part of the editorial flow of the blog page.
There are 3 types of native ads, and they are:
- In-feed ads: These ads appear in your content.
- Search and promotional Listings: These ads appear on top of google search results or in the sidebar.
- Content recommendations: These ads appear below your articles.
Native ads are much better than display ads as consumers are 53% more likely to look at them. The click-through rate of native ads is 18% better than display ads, and users are more likely to engage with them.
Some of the best native advertising solutions that will be worth your time are:
- Mgid – 90,000 monthly sessions per month
- Taboola – 500,000 monthly sessions
- Google Adsense( Google Adsense now offers native ads)
Affiliate marketing is another fantastic way to monetize your blog even if your traffic is very low.
For instance, you can consider affiliate marketing once your blog reaches at least 3,000 sessions per month.
So what is affiliate marketing?
Affiliate marketing is when you recommend a product or service through your special affiliate links and whenever someone makes a purchase using your link you earn a commission.
According to Statista, spending on affiliate marketing will be around 8.2 billion dollars in the US in 2022.
When so much money is being spent on affiliate marketing, it means that there is a lot of money to be made.
This is why more publishers are leveraging their affiliate marketing strategies as the earning potential is unlimited.
Now, though it might seem that affiliate marketing is complicated and you have to be an expert to make a lot of money, the truth is it is way simpler than you can imagine.
Here are two resources that will help you make money with affiliate marketing:
- What Are Affiliate Links And How You Can Use Them To Generate A Full-Time Income
- Affiliate Marketing With Pinterest- The Best Guide To Make Money
If you are searching for some affiliate marketing programs, then you can try these since they are very beginner-friendly:
My personal recommendation is to start with ShareAsale because it will accept your application even if your blog is new.
I will highly recommend you to use this method of monetization for your blog. Of course, it will take you time to start earning a decent income with this method, but it will be totally worth it.
Now, with affiliate links, there is another smart way to make an income by using a very smart strategy which is called Launch Jacking.
Launch Jacking is an affiliate marketing strategy where you can take advantage of a new product launch, write a full review for the product and suggest to your audience why they should use this new product.
The advantage of launch jacking is:
- You will be among the first ones to write a product review which will automatically rank your review on Google’s first spot.
- You can potentially make a lot of money if the product becomes popular.
Your website has a lot of slots that are usually used for ads. But if you sacrifice a couple of slots and use them for direct advertisements, then you can make a good income.
Here are a few slots that perform really well that can be used for direct advertisements:
I am sure you are wondering how you can get started with direct advertisement. Well, it’s really simple.
Create a page where you can make an offer to people who want to advertise with your blog.
The page should reflect everything that an advertiser needs so that he can buy ads on your blog. For instance:
- You should clearly show how much traffic your blog is getting.
- How much social shares your content gets.
- How you create compelling CTA (call to action).
- What benefits advertisers will get if ever they choose to buy an ad slot from you.
How you can advertise with direct advertisements?
You can allocate banner ads above the fold in the sidebar of your blog and below the fold banner ads. Advertisers will buy those slots every month, and you can even offer a discount if they agree to run the ads for several months.
The price will depend on the number of impressions you can provide to the advertiser. The more your blog traffic, the more you can earn.
Here is how much you can charge:
- Above-the-fold sidebar banner: $100/month (for 10,000 impressions)
- Below-the-fold sidebar banner: $50/month (for 15,000 impressions)
Well, this is just an example. You can charge any amount you want if the advertiser is ready to pay for it.
SPECIAL NOTE: If you are struggling with blog traffic, you can use Pinterest to bring massive traffic to your new blog.
5.Paid reviews/Sponsored posts
Sponsored posts/Paid reviews are articles that a blogger is paid to publish by companies and brands that are related to the blogger’s niche.
It’s a great way to boost your monthly income. You can earn anywhere between $100 up to $1000 per review.
Sponsored posts take various formats such as reviews, summaries of an offer, announcement of a sale, product announcements, and lists posts.
Some of the best practices for sponsored posts are:
- Time your sponsored posts carefully. You don’t want to release five reviews at once, as your readers won’t like it.
- Before writing a sponsored post, think about how the reviews can help your audience. It should be about something that solves their problems.
- Don’t write sponsored posts just for the sake of making an extra income. You don’t want to recommend a product or service to your audience without having used it yourself.
Some of the companies that can help you earn an extra income with Paid reviews/Sponsored posts are:
If you know how to build a website, then you are ahead of almost most people on this planet. This is a unique knowledge that can help you make a lot of income.
Many business owners are searching for websites that are related to their niche. They actually don’t have the time to build a website from scratch and wait for 1-2 years till the website starts to get traction from Google.
This is where you can flip websites and make a huge income instantly. Usually, the sale for a website is around 30-40 times the monthly revenue.
In short, if you build a website that makes $500 per month, you will be able to sell it for $20,000 on Flippa.
Pretty dope, isn’t it?
7.Create a members-only area
I am sure you must have come across blogs that have a members-only area. This is another great way to monetize your content.
The thing is: Your loyal readers may be willing to pay a monthly fee to get access to your premium content.
Your member-only area can contain in-depth blog posts, downloads, audio content, video, and more. In your member-only area, you can share all your secrets about your niche.
The only downside of this revenue model is that you will need to create premium content regularly which can be time-consuming.
But, don’t ignore its potential. Earning recurring revenue for your blog can build a good foundation for the future of your blog.
Now, it’s not that complicated to create a membership website. You can use a WordPress membership plugin which will make everything easier for you.
For instance, you can use MemberPress as it is a beginner-friendly and powerful tool to create a membership website.

Many people love private forums as they can get access to one-on-one advice from the owner. It’s a great way to interact with your audience and help them directly.
Another awesome benefit of a private forum is that the members can interact with each other and help each other to grow. This is an effective way for many people to find business partners and make great connections.
Though moderating a forum can be a lot of work, it is a fantastic way to stay engaged with your loyal audience and make recurring revenue.
Here are a few forum plugins that you can use:
Selling your own e-Book is another way to make money with your blog. The awesome thing about e-Book is that it doesn’t take long to write.
Within 1 week, you can create a simple e-Book and charge anywhere between $10-$15for that e-Book.
If you have been blogging for some time, you can collect some of your old blog posts and combine them into chapters which will be a quick way to create an e-Book.
You can use Canva to create your e-books which is the easiest way I know. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you create your own e-Book with Canva:
Now, once you have created your e-book, you can sell it as a digital download on your blog.

Selling online courses has been the best revenue model for many entrepreneurs as they can charge a much higher price for their expertise.
When you are creating a course, you should add additional materials like downloads, slides, videos, checklists, templates, etc.
Now, there are two ways you can price your course.
One is charging a minimum price without any support, and the second option is to charge a much higher price where you will offer your personal support either via email or phone call.
Here is a detailed guide from WPBeginner that will help you to create your online course in WordPress.
11.Host paid webinars
Webinars have been growing in popularity as it helps business owners build their audience, share their experiences and grow their businesses. And on top of that, it is a very smart way to make money online.
Webinars are slightly different from online courses as it is a live event that often includes a question and answers section.

Even if you don’t have a blog, you can easily make money online with freelancing. Here are a few ways to make money without having a blog:

13.Start a consulting business
Consulting is another way to make money with your blog and share your experience with others.
As a consultant, you will need to offer advice and strategies so that your clients can become more effective.
The awesome thing about offering your consulting services is that you don’t need to invest any extra money to get started. All you need to do is to create a page where you list all your consulting services and add a form where your potential clients can request more information.
You can use WPForms to create a request a quote form easily.
14.Become a coach
Have you ever had the idea of becoming a coach someday? If so, then your blog can give you that flexibility.
There are different types of coaches out there. There are life coaches who offer guidance, advice, and accountability for setting goals. But there are also blog coaches, writing coaches, relationship coaches, etc.
Becoming a coach means that you will have to provide one-on-one help to your audience with your coaching sessions.
Now, the easiest way to get started with coaching on your WordPress blog is by setting up a booking form so that your potential clients can schedule sessions from your blog directly.
You can use Simply Schedule Appointments which is a free WordPress plugin that will allow you to set up your appointments.
