What is Fiverr?

Fiverr is a freelance platform that allows freelancers to post their services and get jobs from people who need their services. Fiverr’s website offers a wide range of services that can be purchased, including artwork, digital design work, music production, and writing.

To get started on Fiverr, you will first need to create a seller account, then create a few gigs where you will showcase your skills and expertise. Then by following Fiverr’s algorithm, your gigs will start to rank and you will start to get requests from buyers.
Here are the steps:
1. Choose the type of service you will provide on Fiverr
Based on your skills and expertise, you will need to find the type of service that you will provide on Fiverr.
Though most beginners will be tempted to choose a high-paying gig, I will highly advise you to choose low-competition Fiverr gigs as a beginner.
This is because the platform has a lot of competition and you won’t be able to compete with established sellers.
Here is a list of the least competitive Fiverr services you can choose to start your freelancing journey on the platform.
Once you have chosen the type of service, the next step is to create your account.

4. Create your First Fiverr gig
Before you can start selling on Fiverr, you will need to create gigs that will help you attract potential buyers.
So, what is a Fiverr gig?
The service that you provide and promote in the marketplace is known as a “Gig.” Potential clients may see your ability on display during your Gig, and you can also provide them any information they might want before making an order.
A lot of sellers will offer a gig for $5 as a trial gig. This is to see if the person buying likes their work before they commit to buying.

How to create a Fiverr gig:
- Sign in, then click on Selling then choose My Business, and Gigs.
- Choose “My Profile” and Publish a new gig.
- Once you’ve finished adding the details, click “Save & Proceed.”
As you can see (picture above), you will need to add the following information:
- Gig Title: Your title should include at least one keyword that is related to your service. (You can read this article to learn how to find and use keywords in your title).
- Category: The category is relatively easy as you can choose any category that is relatively close to the type of service you are providing.
- Search Tags: While creating a job on Fiverr, you can include search tags, which are terms that make it simpler for customers to locate your service.
- Positive keywords: These are keywords that your gig will rank for. It is vital to add a few positive keywords to your gig so that it can be found when buyers do a search on Fiverr. (You can read the full article that will help you find positive keywords for your gig here.)

Pro Tip: The way you create and optimize your Fiverr gig will have a direct impact on how much money you are making on the platform.
5. Promote your Fiverr gig
The first step to promoting your gig is to understand how the Fiverr algorithm works and how you can use it to your advantage to appear higher on search results.
However, your gig can take anywhere between 30-45 days to reach its full potential. So, instead of waiting for your gigs to mature organically, you can give them a boost in impressions and views to get a higher ranking.
Most beginners will never try to promote their gigs outside of Fiverr, but they fail to understand that the more views and impressions a gig get, the more it will be favored in Fiverr’s algorithm. Hence it will appear more on search results to a wider audience.
That’s why it is vital to promote your Fiverr gigs outside the platform.
There are a few ways to promote your gigs:
- Promote it on social media platforms like Pinterest, Facebook, or LinkedIn (the fastest way to get traction)
- Create a blog to attract organic traffic from Google (Takes at least 6 months, but is the most consistent way to guarantee consistency over a long period)
- Create a youtube channel ( Takes at least 3 months and it is time-consuming)
So, in short, advertising your Fiverr gigs on social media platforms seems to be the best option for short-term results.
That’s why you can start with social media and then supplement it with a blog.
Now, when it comes to social media platforms, your best bet is Pinterest.
Why Pinterest?
This is because Pinterest is like a search engine and your pins will get reactions for 6-12 months for free.
Here is how much traffic (Outbound clicks) my pins got in 1 month:

That’s why I always advise my readers to give interest a try as it is an amazing platform to get free traffic.
