The fact that there is so much competition on the platform, it is crucial to be spot-on with your keyword strategy.

What are keywords and why should you use them?

The best way buyers can find a seller is by using keywords that are closely related to the kind of service they are looking for.

By typing the keyword, they can get a list of potential sellers where they can read reviews and have an overview of the pricing for each seller.

Why I am telling you this?

Well, to be able to understand why you are not getting any job requests, you need to analyze it from a buyer’s perspective.

You will need to understand:

  • How a particular seller appears in the search result
  • Why a buyer will choose a seller given that they have a wide range of choices
  • How positive review is vital to be able to grab attention
  • What are the prices buyers are willing to pay for a particular service
  • How much competition there is for a particular gig and what are your chances of getting hired
  • What are your rankings on the search result

Understanding these key points will make a massive difference in how much work you are getting on Fiverr.

That being said, let’s now see how you can find and use keywords to your advantage.

How to do keyword Research For your Fiverr Gigs

So, let’s do that.

1. Find keywords using the Fiverr search engine

For this tutorial, I will use the term “Domain” to find specific keywords with low competition.

A quick search on Fiverr for the term “Domain” will give you this result:

As you can see, different keywords are closely related to the term domain:

  • Increase domain authority
  • Expired domain
  • Domain authority
  • Sell domain
  • Increase domain rating
  • Referring domain
  • Domain research
  • Domain name

Now that you have got your list of keywords, it’s time to check the competition for each one to see a GAP that will be easier to rank for.

Let’s do that:

2. Check competition for each keyword

Competition for a particular gig is mainly determined by the number of services that are related to the keyword.

For instance, if I type “Increase domain authority” I will get 7,469 services that are available for that keyword:

Now, we will repeat this process for all the keywords and put them in a neat table:

KeywordCompetitionConclusion
Increase domain authority7,469Too competitive
Expired domain378Has potential
Domain authority1,115Competitive
Sell domain33Has potential
Increase domain rating2,790Too competitive
Referring domain76Has potential
Domain research315Has potential
Domain name1,367Competitive

Based on this data, you can notice that some keywords have really low competition.

Pro tip: You can target any keyword that has less than 400 search results. The less search volume, the better you have a chance of getting on the first page.

3. Find keywords from existing Fiverr gigs

Now that you have your foundation keywords, it’s time to see what key terms other people are using that are helping them get on the first page.

For this tutorial, we will use “Domain Research” since it is a keyword that has potential. When you do a quick search on Fiverr, you will get this result:

To get the best results you will need to sort out the results by “Bestselling“. This will give you an idea of the keywords that the best-selling gigs have.

Check all the relevant gigs with good reviews and ratings and gather these keywords in your excel sheet or table.

For instance:

Let’s analyze this seller and see what keywords he uses for “Domain Research”.

Here you will need to focus on:

  • The title of the Gig
  • The URL of the Gig
  • The tags that are used for the Gig
  • Thumbnail of the gig

Title: Expired domain research

Thumbnail: Niche relevant domain

URL: Do niche-relevant expired domain research for 301 redirect

Tags: Domain research, expired domain, domain names

Now that you have your whole set of keywords, your next step is to create a gig and use all of the keywords (where possible) to create your Fiverr gig.

You should also look at the packages being offered so that you can have a better idea about the type of tasks you will need to do.

For instance, this seller has 3 different packages:

Based on these, you can easily create your own package and offer the services at a lower price to have a higher chance of getting hired by buyers.

That being said, there is a shortcut to finding competition for keywords on Fiverr. Let’s see how you can get things done rapidly.

1. The Fiverr Analytics

With this tool, you will be able to find how competitive a keyword is.

All you have to do is just type the keyword and you will get the data within seconds.

Let’s use “Domain research” and see what type of information we get.

As you can see, you get all the information without any effort. I really like the way they organize this report and I love the “Gigs by countries feature”.

Now, let’s have a look at the Fiverr rank checker.

2. Fiverr rank checker

Once you have created your Fiverr gig, it will be crucial to track your ranking. This feature will help you find your ranking instantly so that you can make necessary adjustments to rise in the search results.

How does it work?

Well, it’s really simple, all you have to do is to type your Username and Target keyword.

Now, if you want to track your gig ranking for 30 days, you will need to spend $1 which I think is reasonable.

If you use this feature you will get:

  • Rank Chart for 30 Days
  • Daily Status Update Email
  • Rank Change Track
  • Searches up to 5 Pages
